Kanye West
Kanye West is no stranger to controversy. Kanye's rants and outbursts are almost as legendary as his catalog and production credits. The rapper gets in trouble for his unfiltered comments and these public events have landed him in hot water.

Literally any person, place or thing can feel Kanye’s wrath, which has caused him many problems. Just ask Mike Myers. When the duo appeared together asking for money during the Hurricane Katrina pledge drive, West went off-script when he said that President Bush didn’t care about black people. Poor Myers had to stand next to Kanye the entire time with nowhere to run. One would have thought that Kanye learned his lesson after his rant in front of the whole country. It was just the beginning.

Throughout the years, more and more controversies have popped up due to his rants. He’s walked out of awards shows, cursed off fans and bashed contemporaries over the years.Kanye’s greatest outburst, however, was directed at Taylor Swift. Though he was sort of well intentioned, remember he attempted to explain why his pal Beyonce should have won the VMA instead of the country sweetheart, it just created another controversy when the public was already on Kanye overload. The event spawned thousands of memes and a tongue-lashing from the President Obama.

Here are 10 of Kanye's most controversial eruptions...until the next big one occurs.

Kanye Vs. MTV, Round One
Remember when Britney Spears’ big comeback ended up being a gargantuan flop? Well, that could have been avoided if organizers picked Kanye to open the show. In typical fashion, he claimed he wasn’t picked because his skin wasn’t the right color. To make matters worse, he lost all five awards he was nominated for. He vowed to never return to the show. If only he stuck to his guns.
Governor’s Ball 2012
Days ahead of the release Yeezus, the rapper performed in NYC and told fans at his headlining set that he didn’t care if he sold a million copies or how much money as long as fans rock to it. A far cry from the vast materialism of his earlier work, it looks like age and impending fatherhood changed his priorities.
A Fan Throws a Penny and Kanye Sings About It
An Australian fan learned the hard way not to chuck coins at the rapper. Though the culprit was never uncovered, Kanye went on a mid-song tangent, telling the person “to eat sh*t and die.”
Interrupting Taylor Swift’s Acceptance Speech
When Taylor Swift took home the prize for Best Female Video, everyone in attendance politely gave their approval. Except Kanye. Visibly upset that his pal Beyonce didn’t win the award, the rapper leaped out of his seat and hit the stage in defense of his friend, even though that meant interrupting the victor.

While he may have had a case, his rant went over poorly and turned him into an adjective for poor manners.
Comparing Himself to Hitler
Playing in front of a huge crowd at the 2011 Big Chill Festival in England, Kanye didn’t exactly endear himself to the fans with his statement about being, of all things, misunderstood. To say these words in a country that was mercilessly bombed by the Germans during World War II, probably wasn’t a wise move.
Storms Out Again After Losing to Justice/Simian at the 2006 MTV EMAs
After his video for “Touch the Sky” lost out to Justice and Simian’s “We Are Your Friends” for the Best Video Award, Kanye stormed the stage and pleaded his case why he should taken home the night’s biggest prize. While he may have had a case, even saying “I was jumping across canyons!” The Europeans weren’t too thrilled and he eventually apologized later that year blaming his outburst on too much “sippy, sippy.”
Blaming Bonnaroo For His Late Start
Fans waiting to see Yeezy perform at Bonnaroo in 2008 had to wait two hours before he finally hit the stage. They not only voiced their displeasure with boos, but threw bottles at the stage as well. In true Kanye fashion, he went on a 773 word tirade blaming the promoters without apologizing for his tardiness. Points here for his excessive use of Caps Lock.

Storming Out of the 2004 American Music Awards After Losing Best New Artist Award
Heading into the event, Kanye was confident he’d take home the prize for Best New Artist. Instead country singer Gretchen Wilson won, causing the rapper to leave the ceremony in a huff. He later said he was robbed and was the best new artist of that year. History has proven him right.
Dissing Justin Timberlake at a Show in London
Maybe he was jealous that longtime pal Jay-Z chose to take JT out on the road with him, but regardless of the reason, Kanye wasn’t feeling “Suit & Tie.” He told the crowd, “And I got love for Hov but I ain’t fuc*ing with that Suit & Tie.” Ouch.
“George Bush Doesn’t Care About Black People”
After Hurricane Katrina ravaged New Orleans, a bunch of celebs banded together for a telethon to raise funds to help the Big Easy get back on its feet. But the night will be forever remembered for Kanye calling out George W. Bush in an unscripted moment that was uncomfortable for everyone involved. Just ask Mike Myers.
