Great Smoky Mountains National Park
GATLINBURG - 522,419 acres of land are The Great Mountains National Park making its the largest protected area of land in the eastern United States. Shared with North Carolina, this is the most visited national park in the country.
Tennessee Aquarium

Loretta Lynn's Haunted Plantation
HURRICANE MILLS - The Queen of Country Music opens her home and grounds to visitors from the world over. An 18,000 sq ft museum tells the story of this music superstar. There are campgrounds, canoeing, gift shop, and exhibits of her life. The plantation home on Hwy 13 is said to be one of the most haunted places in the country. Loretta, family and visitors have seen spirits of Confederate soldiers, a crying lady buried in the cemetery on the property, and other paranormal activities. Loretta moved out of the house in 1984 after her son died trying to cross the Duck River adjoining the property.
Opryland Hotel
NASHVILLE - You would never think a hotel as a tourist attraction but this is an exception. This massive hotel has the largest arboretum other than the one owned by the Queen of England. Tropical plants, waterfalls, bridges, shops and huge pools. You do not have to be a guest here to enjoy all there is to see. Beautiful place at Christmas!
Point Park
CHATTANOOGA - Smallest National Military Park in the US. Here in Sept. 1863 forces fought "The Battle Above The Clouds" during the Civil War. $3 fee includes visitor center, museum, hiking trails and incredible views of the city. Elevation is 2,100 ft, very windy, day use only. Excellent!
National Cornbread Festival
SOUTH PITTSBURG - This festival on the last full weekend of April showcases all things cornbread. 5K race, cornbread cookoff, arts & crafts, carnival rides and tours of the town. Located next to the Lodge Cast Iron plant, remember your grandmother's cast iron skillet? This is probably where it came from.
Rock City
CHATTANOOGA - 6 miles from downtown Rock City has massive ancient stone formations, gardens, caverns, lover's leap and the famous view of seven states.
Cherohala Skyway
TELLICO PLAINS - One of the most popular scenic byways in the country. Spectacular views on this 40 mile highway through the Cherokee National Forest. Highest elevation is 5,400 ft at the TN-NC border. Gas up before you go!
Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies
GATLINBURG - 12 ft. sharks, penguins, giant sea turtles and thousands of exotic sea creatures await you at this fantastic aquarium. The underwater tunnels are a fun and different way to experience another view of the ocean.
