"Labor Day" movie quotes tell the story of two people who for different reasons cannot face the world, who find each other and make the home they've been searching for. The romantic drama movie was written and directed by Jason Reitman based off of the novel of the same title by Joyce Maynard. "Labor Day" first premiered at the Telluride Film Festival before its theatrical release on January 31, 2014.
In "Labor Day," single mother Adele Wheeler (Kate Winslet) lives with her son, Henry (Gattlin Griffith), in a small town in the 1980s. Having lost a part of her when Henry's father left her, Adele rarely leaves the home and when she does, is overwhelmed with depression. One day when she and Henry are shopping, Henry is approached by a bloody and suspicious Frank Chambers (Josh Brolin), who forces them to take him to their home.
Soon Adele learns that Frank has escaped from prison where he was serving time for murder. While she is frightened by him, she allows him to stay in her home and soon builds a romantic relationship. This is all compromised however when the police find Frank and jeopardize the quiet and secluded life they've created together.

Frank Chambers: "We're gonna hit the road and never look back."
With the police aware of Frank's location with her, Adele and he plan to leave town. They want to be together but that can't happen if the police haul him back to prison.
This Is Frank. He Needs Help.

Henry Wheeler: "You're bleeding."

Adele and son Henry meet Frank for the first time in a store. Frank approaches Henry then uses him to convince Adele to give him a ride. Things get worse before they get better when Adele and Henry learn that Frank wants to go to their house and is perhaps a man wanted for murder.

Frank Chambers: "Just know that there's more to this story than you'll see in those papers there." [to Adele, holding the rope] "You won't be needing that any longer and if you have to say I tied you up, you won't be lying."
Henry tries to ask Frank about the circumstances that put him in prison, especially since it's all over the news. What Frank isn't saying is that the murder he was charged with was actually an accident.
Let a Woman Like Your Mother Get Away
Frank Chambers: "How's a fellow let a woman like your mother get away?"
Henry Wheeler: "He got together with his secretary."
Henry opens up a bit about his mother's past, namely what happened with Adele and Henry's father. Frank seems to be interested in Adele romantically and is willing to pursue it.
Just Leaving the House Was Difficult
Henry Wheeler: "It was just the two of us after my father left. I don't think losing my father broke my mother's heart but rather losing love itself. Her hands started shaking beyond her control. Just leaving the house was difficult."
A now-adult Henry reflects on his mother prior to the events in the film and describes how her loss of love nearly crippled her. She could barely leave the house, opting much more for staying in their home, where she was comfortable.
I'd Be Grateful If You Let Me Stay
Frank Chambers: "I'd be grateful if you'd let me stay till nightfall."
Henry Wheeler: "Is it against the law to hide a fugitive?"

Frank Chambers: "If someone were to come by, it would need to look like I kidnapped you."
Adele Wheeler: "How do I know you won't hurt us?"
Frank Chambers: "I've never intentionally hurt anyone in my life."
Adele Wheeler: "I am stronger than you think and I won't let anything happen to my son."
Frank Chambers: "I don't doubt that."
While Adele is still frightened by Frank, seeing that he is tying her and her son Henry up and all, she is also surprised at how calm and grateful for her help he is. She hasn't figured him out yet but is letting him stay while she does.
Two People
Henry Wheeler: "There were two people who couldn't go out into the world so they made a world with each other."
Henry reflects on why his mother, Adele, and Frank fit each other so well. Adele couldn't leave home out of her fears of public and Frank was a fugitive but at home, they had all they needed when they were together.
Just the Handyman
Evelyn: "Adele? … Are you a friend?"
Frank Chambers: "Just the handyman"
Adele's friend Evelyn stops by and encounters Frank. While he claims to be the handyman, she soon becomes suspicious.
Maybe You Should Stay
Frank Chambers: "I should go."
Adele Wheeler: "Maybe you should stay."
Frank Chambers: "They're not going to stop looking."
Adele Wheeler: "I know."
Frank suggests that to keep Adele and Henry out of the suspicion of the local law, that he leaves. She understands the risks involved and asks him to stay anyway.
I Can't Give You a Family
Frank Chambers: "I'd give my life just to have another three days with you."

Adele Wheeler: "I can't give you a family."
Frank Chambers: "You already have."
Frank professes his love for Adele. She shares his feelings but is sad that she cannot bring him the family he wants. As he tells her, she already has.
